Colleagues, Happy New Year!
How is it already a new decade?

2019 was quite a growing year for STEM Boomerang. Our goal is to be a connector, and to do so, we continue to grow our relationships with STEM professionals, academics, State leaders, and STEM companies all over the state of New Mexico.
Our largest event of the year – STEM Boomerang:E3 Career Connection Event 2019 was held in December in collaboration with community advocates including Albuquerque Community Foundation and the City of Albuquerque.Over 170 STEM professionals were in attendance, networking and distributing their resumes to more than 25 STEM companies, national labs, and universities. Get the full event recap on our website.
If you attended, please give us your feedback [Post-event survey].

STEM Boomerang in the Community
The Director of STEM Boomerang, Dr. Maggie Werner Washburne, received the coveted “2019 Excellence in Mentoring award” through the UNM Mentoring Institute (Director, Nora Dominguez). Dr. Werner Washburne has been faculty at UNM for over 30 years, and has helped mentor over 300 STEM students, who have gone off to get higher degrees in biology, chemistry, engineering, and computer sciences. She continues to advocate, guide, and mentor through all career stages and life changes. This award is well deserved! Congratulate her on her LinkedIn page.
