Working with the Albuquerque Community Foundation, we will have a completely novel, innovative 2 day event in Albuquerque. STEM Boomerang is a disruptive idea. With a great team, we will benefit New Mexico and, later, other regions that need to reconnect with the people who want to stay or come back home. But it goes beyond retention and repatriation – STEM Boomerang is also a way to recruit, by giving a warm welcome to anyone who wants to come and contribute and to become part of the diverse, inclusive, creative community that is New Mexico!

STEM Boomerang is moving into a new phase.  For two years, it was an event that brought in 115 STEM Professionals in year 1 and 150 STEM Professionals in year 2 – for a meeting that held 150 participants and 300 participants in years 1 and 2, respectively.

STEM Boomerang has helped to place approximately 20 professionals and is continuing to help make matches and work with the young professionals to ensure a successful  “warm handshake” with hiring companies.
Our goal is for STEM Boomerang in the area of Careers, Innovation, and Economic Development in New Mexico to be what CISCO Systems has been to computing.  SB is a connector – a hub – that brings together STEM Professionals, our colleges and universities, national labs and startups, and the Innovation community and Economic Development and Industry Organizations to make business and educational growth not only smooth and possible – but synergistic, immediate, and aligned with the unique values, traditions, and vision in our state.
